Most cities have Taxies, what doesn't mean it will improve your travel at all. As it is very common that you will be offered a fixed fare instead of paying the meter readings. Make sure the driver turns on the meter as soon as you enter the car, if he insists on a fixed rate you better get out and wait for the next one. However it is expected that you give 20 to 50 pesos more than the amount shown on the meter. If you are coming from the airport look for the yellow airport taxies, their rates are slightly higher but absolutly worth it. In the Islands or smaller towns you have the option to take a "Jeepney" or "Trycicle" as public transportation. As they don't have meters you can follow those basic rates.
